Prayer is a vital part of our life and ministry at St. Peter's. Below the Request forms are a variety of places and ways that we do prayer ministry here. We welcome you to come and experience prayer in a deeper way.
We welcome prayer requests. Below are two forms that you can use to send your requests. The first is a general form for prayers that can be sent to the prayer chain (these requests go only to those on our prayer chain), for our Sunday service prayer time (public requests), and for our weekly Care E-mail (to the whole congregation). The second form is for private requests to Pastor Rick only.
Prayer at St. Peter's
The location of St. Peter’s is such a beautiful setting which lends itself to a quiet space for prayer and contemplation. We want you to enjoy and take advantage of our many spaces for reflection, prayer and study of Gods word.
The Sanctuary
Our sanctuary will be filled with soft music each day. We invite you to take your place at the foot of the cross. A prayer kneeling pad will be available or sit in the soft chair and take some special moments with Jesus, laying your burdens down at the cross. Make sure you check out the church calendar to see if any events are happening or phone Evelyn in the office. Want to come in the evening? Check with Evelyn in the office for access into the church after hours.
The Memorial
Did you know that we have a great spot in the forest to sit and relax in the midst of God’s creation? A number of years ago, Fred and Barb Nelson built a memorial in memory of grandchildren who passed away. Small plaques with names of other members who are in heaven are mounted in the memorial location. Take time to remember loved ones. There is a nice bench to sit on and pray. Lonely? Need time to talk with God. The Memorial is a wonderful place to invite the presence of God to be near.
Wednesday Evening Prayer at 7:00pm
Join Diane Scott and her prayer group for a time of intercession as they pray for the needs of our congregation, community and world. This group has been commissioned by Pastor to visit people in our church who are unable to attend worship and to offer the anointing of oil in a prayer and healing ministry.
Sunday Morning Prayer
Paul Prochanu leads a men’s prayer group at 9:15 am each Sunday morning in the trailer. Paul feels it’s important that men should be praying for the church and surrounding the pastor with prayer prior to worship. Join him and others for this prayer time.
Worship Prayer
As you know, we take time during worship to accept your personal prayer requests. Some are a little shy to share these during worship. To make it easier, we will have set up just in the narthex, a prayer box. Write down a prayer request on a slip of paper and the ushers will gather these up and give them to pastor just before service.
Following Worship Prayer Time
We do have people available to pray for you following worship. Sometimes during worship, the Holy Spirit begins to work in your heart or something in the service touches you deeply. We want to make sure that you feel comfortable approaching our designated prayer team and to find a quiet location to go to and pray. More information will follow on this location.
Care Email
A mid-week email goes out from the church office with prayers gathered from Sunday morning worship or phoned into the office. We invite you to submit prayers and to pray for the immediate needs that come across your computer screen.
Prayer Chain
Phone Alice Ness at any time during the week with a prayer request. This will be passed on to other members who will quickly pray for you needs.
Prayer and Song
Worship music has the ability to place us into a prayer posture. The last Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm at the church, you are invited to The Source, a time of worship with an emphasis on prayer. Pastor Rick will teach us a little lesson about the gift of prayer at each of these times together and we are hoping to hear some testimonies of people in our congregation who have experienced the impact of prayer in their life.
The Prayer and Resource Room
Located downstairs, we are in the process of transforming this room into a quiet place for prayer, study and reflection. Enjoy a soft chair, a coffee table, a candle, and a small desk to read and study God’s word. Check out the library and find a book to read.
The Prayer Walk
Who has a backdrop for a church like us? Not many! We are blessed. We are going to build a prayer walk in the back of the forest with prayer stations to sit for awhile. The basic trail has been plotted, now we need help grooming the trail and setting up the stations. Interested in helping out with this project? Let us know.
Prayer Guides
We are looking for writers who would like to create some prayer guides in various themes. These could be used on the prayer walk, in our prayer areas in the church or even for people to take home and use on their own.
Pastor Rick’s Priority
I love praying! I can’t pray unless I know your needs. You are not bothering me with a prayer request. No prayer is little! Because of technology I am able to receive your prayer request almost immediately. You can phone me if you wish. Sometimes, I’m available and sometimes I’m in a meeting or counseling appointment. However, if you use the Prayer Request form for me at the top of this page, I will get your request shortly and I will stop everything and pray for you!
