St. Peter's Lutheran Church

As we work to make St Peter's a very special place, sometimes we have items or work that would help to make things better.

So here is a wishlist of things we could use or jobs, from small to large, that we are looking for help with. If you would like to contribute in one of these ways please contact the office or Pastor Rick to let us know. Thanks!

People gifts & skills we need... Things we would like...

Decorators
We are planning to redecorate the downstairs as part of our new Fellowship space after the Sunday morning services. So we need help with ideas, painting, and other decorating. Please contact the office if you would like to help.

Prayer Walk Helpers
We are very blessed to have some great forest area back of the church. This could be used for a prayer walk. We already have a basic trail plotted, but now we need help with grooming the trail and setting up stations along the way where people can sit to pray and mediate. If you would like to help with this, please contact the office.

Fellowship Coordinator
We are looking for someone with a gift of organizing and hospitality to organize the fellowship events at church. This is also a council position and would require attending one council meeting per month - usually the second Tuesday of the month.

Cookie Grannies
We're looking for Cookie Grannies (of any age!) who like baking cookies. We want to include these in Pastor Rick's ministry package, or for other ministry opportunites. We're looking for cookies that will freeze and keep well, and also ones that aren't crumbly.

Prayer Shawls
We want to create a package of items that Pastor Rick can take with him when he does hospital or ministry visits. One of the items that he mentioned is sometimes helpful is a prayer shawl. So if you enjoy knitting or crocheting, and would like to help with this, please let us know.

Bulletin Board Organizing
We have a number of bulletin boards here at church that could be far better used. For the most part, this job would involve picking up information from the office on a weekly basis and seeing that it is put up on the appropriate bulletin board. It would probably only take a few minutes each Sunday. This could also be done by a rotating group that we could add to the helpers schedule.

Graphic Design
Do you enjoy doing graphic design? We have numerous projects where we could use some grphic design - bulletin covers, newsletters, posters, signs, website design, etc.

Data Entry
The office needs someone willing to enter data for a ministry project. Check with Evelyn in the office. a

Ministry Cards
We want to create a series of ministry cards for St. Peter's – thank you, sympathy, caring, hospital, etc. So we are looking for artwork and photography that would be suitable for such cards. Or, if you are gifted at writing, we could use some wording for inside the cards that would bless and encourage others.

Newsletter Editing
Do you enjoy words? Would you be willing to become our newsletter editor? We publish about three newsletters a year - fall, Christmas and spring. You would organize the information to go into the brochure. If you are also graphically inclined, you would be welcome to design the newsletter as well (although that is not required!).

Visitors Brochure
Do you like to welcome guests who come to the church? What things do you think guests might like to know about St. Peter's? Would you be willing to write a visitor's guide, or work with someone to do that?

Prayer Guides
Visit our Prayer at St Peter's page to see the variety of ways that we encourage prayer here. We would like to provide some Prayer Guides for people who come to pray. This could cover a variety of themes - from praise & joy to loss & grief. If you have some ideas and would like to write a prayer guide, please let us know.

Bistro Tables (tall ones)
We are looking for 6-8 tall bistro tables to be part of our fellowship area downstairs. Know of anywhere where we can get some at a very reasonable price?

Couches/Sofas & Easy Chairs
A sofa and loveseat set or two of each to be part of a seating area downstairs. We are looking for something that is in really good condition and that matches the colors we have downstairs. If you have items such as this that you would consider donating, please contact the office to come and view them to make sure they will fit.

Artists & Photographers
We want to design a series of cards for the church - thank you cards, sympathy cards, thinking-of-you cards and so on. If you have good artwork or photography that you would like to share with the church, please contact the office.

Writers
Do you enjoy writing? We have a number of projects we would like help with - from writing prayer guides for the prayer walk to editing the newsletter, etc. Contact the office if you are interested.

Fellowship Coordinator
We need a council member to take on the role of Fellowship Coordinator. This would involve attending monthly council meetings - usually one a month - second Tuesday of the month. You would be responsible for organizing or finding people to organize the fellowship events at church.

Books & Study Resources
If you have Christian books and study resources that you would like to donate to our new Library and Resource Room downstairs, that would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the office.

Study Desk/Table
We'd like a nice study desk or table for the Library Resource room.

Computer
We'd like a good basic computer for the Resource room.

Coffee Table
We're looking for a large square coffee table for a seating area in the main downstairs area. We are also looking for a smaller one for a seating area in the library/resource room. If you have one to donate, please call the office first so we can check to make sure it fits with our project.
